Pleater: Bin piler, plaiter Tends machine that guides cloth in rope form into storage bins or processing tanks in pleat-like folds to prevent tangling during subsequent removal: Threads cloth through poteyes, over rollers, through sleeve of pleating mechanism, and into bin or tank. Starts machine and turns knob to adjust pleating device so that cloth piles in even layers. May also guide cloth with wooden stick or by hand. May also sew ends of cloth together, using portable sewing machine. May also be designated according to process as Sour-Bleaching Pleater (textile industry).
