Dumper 1 – Dumps nitrocellulose into trough for transfer to explosives-manufacturing equipment: Rolls barrels of nitrocellulose from railroad car to dumping room over wooden rails. Removes lock rims and lids of barrels, using handtools. Upturns barrels over water jet in trough and strikes bottom with rubber mallet to loosen contents. May also pump slurry to agitating and blending tubs.
