Loading Shovel Oiler – Lubricates diesel or electric loading shovel at strip mine or quarry: Oils and greases bearings, cables, gears, and other friction areas, using grease gun and oilcan. Assists in routine maintenance and repair of machine. May also shovel dirt and coal to keep bench (top of exposed coal or ore seam) clear. May also keep power cable clear of treads as shovel moves into position. May also guide trucks into loading position, using hand or voice signals.
