Machine Helper: General worker Performs any combination of following tasks in machine manufacturing of felt goods: Cuts felt from feed rolls and removes rolls of processed material from machine. Marks length of finished felt on tag attached to roll. Lifts and positions rolls of base material and bats into feed holders of machine. Hand sews or glues together roll ends to form continuous feed through machine. Transfers materials by handtruck or dolly from discharge end of one machine to feed end of next. Picks up scraps of material around machine and throws scraps into bins or hoppers. Fills pans on machines with sizing inks. Measures and dumps spray solution ingredients in mixing vats according to specifications. Removes foreign particles from scoured and blended stock. Lifts felt rolls from conveyors, and stacks and bundles finished felt rolls to prepare rolls for shipment or stock. May also assist operators to set up machine. May also be designated by specific activity performed as Bat Carrier (textile products), or according to machine operated as Box Feeder (textile products), Cloth-Printer Helper (textile products), Garnett-Machine-Operator Helper (textile products), Needle-Loom-Operator Helper (textile products), Sizing-Machine-And-Drier-Operator Helper (textile products). May also be designated: Coater Helper (textile products), Die-Cutting-Machine-Operator Helper, Automatic (textile products), Picking-Machine-Operator Helper (textile products).
